Course Summary

Eating disorders are a serious mental health condition that can be effectively treated by family-based treatment.

Family-based treatment is unique in that parents and caregivers are in charge of the nutrition rehabilitation of their loved one suffering from an eating disorder. It is a unique treatment because the clinician is working directly with the parents, not the identified client, to support nutrition rehabilitation.

This course was designed to help clinicians more effectively support parents and caregivers in family-based treatment of eating disorders.

When Your Teen has an Eating Disorder is often recommended resource by clinicians as the gold standard for families of those with teens with eating disorders.

  • Target audience: Masters level clinicians/therapist
  • Content level: Intermediate. This course is designed for clinicians that have some prior knowledge of eating disorders. This course does not provide manualized based training for FBT.
